The domestic lifting pump is the ideal solution for treating domestic wastewater, and installing a bathroom wherever wastewater cannot be evacuated by natural slope, or when the main drainage pipe is too far away.

It is usually placed inside the house, particularly under the sink, under the hand basin, or near the shower or washing machine, and allows wastewater to be lifted from several appliances.

Be careful not to confuse this with adaptable WC macerators which can treat both sanitary water and wastewater (WC).

How a lift pump works

The operation of a lift pump is very simple.

The lifting pump comes in the form of a box, having one or more inlets to which you can connect numerous devices: Shower, sink, hand basin, etc…

Our Aquasani Pump lifting pump can even drain water from a washing machine because it can withstand temperatures up to 60°C!

When water drains from the sanitary fixtures and reaches the lift pump, it automatically triggers a powerful electric motor that drives a turbine to propel the wastewater through a small-diameter pipe connected to the main sewer system. The lift pump can thus raise the wastewater several meters.

Installing your sump pump

Installing a sewage pump is very simple, but it requires a few prerequisites; you will need:

1. From a standard electrical power outlet.

2. PVC pipes and PVC glue

All that remains is to connect the lift pump to the desired devices, connect the pump's discharge elbow to the PVC drain pipe connected to the main wastewater column, and then connect your lift pump to evacuate your wastewater.

Note: The lifting pumps sold on Broyeursani.fr are all equipped with a non-return valve which prevents untimely starts of the devices or backflow of water towards connected devices.

Tips for optimal performance

• Pump maintenance

Depending on how often the lift pump is used, cleaning may be necessary from time to time. A build-up of deposits can result from the intensive use of greasy and hard water.

Do not throw chemicals (solvents, paints, caustic soda, etc.) into sanitary fixtures connected to the pump.

We recommend using strainer grids to prevent the accumulation of hair or food waste that could block the pumps.

• Sound insulation.

If the unit is not installed correctly, the vibrations from its motor can cause noise. Here are some effective tips to make our submersible pumps even quieter.

1) You can place an absorbent mat under the base of the pump to prevent the transmission of vibrations to the frame.

2) For the same reasons, take care to avoid any contact between the pump and a wall.

3) The drain pipe installation must also be securely anchored in the wall, without being in direct contact with it. You can even use anti-vibration clamps (with an insulated rubber layer around the perimeter), which you should install at a maximum interval of 100 cm, to achieve maximum sound insulation.

• Lifting

Reduce the use of elbows to the bare minimum, and prefer two 45° elbows rather than one 90° elbow, in order to limit pressure losses and reduction of flow rate (and therefore the height/length of the lift).

• Pump discharge

Do not connect any other appliances to the drain pipe that runs from the sump pump to the main sewer line. The drainage capacity is significant, and you risk causing backflow into your other appliances.
