A macerating toilet is an essential device when installing or connecting a conventional toilet to the wastewater network is difficult or impossible.
How a macerating toilet works
The operation of a macerating toilet is very simple.
The water and matter at the bottom of the bowl are sucked up, then crushed and propelled into small diameter pipes, connected to the wastewater network.
On the machines sold by Broyeursani.fr, grinding is achieved by the rotation of a knife, a grater, or a turbine, driven by an electric motor. Our adaptable shredders are equipped with a knife, while the compact models are equipped with a turbine or a grater.
The compact macerating toilet
On this page you will find our selection of compact macerating toilets.
Our compact macerating toilets integrate the macerator into the bowl structure. They differ from a conventional toilet only in the absence of a water tank.
To replace the traditional toilet flush, a jet of water controlled by a solenoid valve rinses the bowl; this system, coupled with grinding, is very water-efficient.
This is the ideal choice when you need a macerating toilet and are looking for a stylish appliance. Some models, like the Aquacompact Silence +, even allow you to connect a hand basin to the unit.
Installing your compact toilet macerator
Installing a compact macerating toilet is very simple, but it requires a few prerequisites; you will need:
1. From a water supply with a shut-off valve.
2. A standard electrical power outlet.
3. A PVC drain pipe of 32 to 40 mm in diameter (depending on the model), connected to the main drain.
All that remains is to connect the macerator to the water supply, connect the macerator's discharge elbow to the PVC drain pipe connected to the main water supply valve, and then plug in your appliance to obtain a functional toilet!
Note: The macerators sold on Broyeursani.fr are all equipped with a non-return valve which prevents the devices from starting unexpectedly or the backflow of water into the toilet.
Tips for optimal performance
• Crusher maintenance
Never throw anything other than toilet paper into it to avoid damaging the grinding mechanism.
Using a specific descaler for WC macerators quarterly will also make cleaning easier and preserve the proper functioning of your macerator.
• Sound insulation.
If the appliance is not installed correctly, the vibrations from its motor can cause noise. Here are some effective tips to make our shredders even quieter.
1) You can place an absorbent mat under the foot of the compact macerating toilet to prevent the transmission of vibrations to the frame.
2) For the same reasons, take care to avoid any contact between the grinder and the back wall.
3) The drain pipe installation must also be securely anchored in the wall, without being in direct contact with it. You can even use anti-vibration clamps (with an insulated rubber layer around the perimeter), which you should install at a maximum interval of 100 cm, to achieve maximum sound insulation.
• Lifting
Compact macerators are capable of lifting wastewater several meters, for optimal pumping:
Reduce the use of elbows to the bare minimum, and prefer two 45° elbows rather than one 90° elbow, in order to limit pressure losses and reduction of flow rate (and therefore the height/length of the lift).
• The crusher's discharge
Do not connect any other appliance to the drain that runs from the grinder to the main water supply valve.
When exiting your compact macerating toilet directly, it is recommended to create a gooseneck before redirecting your waste, in order to avoid any siphoning effect.
